Paulownia Shutters
We recently completed a tailored shutter installation in Mitcham, 3132. This adaptable window furnishing has helped to bring a considered mix of privacy, light control and timeless style throughout the home, without sacrificing on visual cohesion.
One Solution, Many Rooms
For two bedrooms, we provided custom shutters crafted from Paulownia, a lightweight timber well suited to plantation shutters. These shutters offer excellent control over natural light and privacy for a bedroom. Finished in Vivid White, they create a neat and neutral look that doesn’t clash with the character of the existing interiors.
In the ensuite bathroom, we selected a PVC shutter to provide a practical solution for the moisture-rich environment. Durable and easy to maintain, PVC is an ideal choice for bathrooms where both performance and style are important.
Timber Tones That Work Together
The hallway presented an opportunity to introduce a warmer, more decorative element. Here, we installed a Basswood shutter stained in Cherry, carefully chosen to complement the existing timberwork in the space. Rather than competing with the established finishes, the rich stain creates a harmonious connection between the new shutter and the surrounding wood tones.
This project is a great example of how shutters can be tailored to suit the individual requirements of each room while still creating a cohesive feel throughout the home. From crisp white timber in the bedrooms to moisture-resistant PVC in the ensuite and warm stained Basswood in the hallway, every material and finish was selected with both aesthetics and practicality in mind.
