Fabric Creations Terms and Conditions

A 55% deposit is required to confirm and proceed with your order. Payment of the deposit is also deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

A part payment may be requested, at the discretion of Fabric Creations (Vic), in the event of installation delays at your request.

Payment of the balance owing is due on the day prior to installation.

Payment can be made by Cash, Credit card, or Direct Deposit.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and Amex. There is no surcharge on credit card payments.

All products remain the property of Fabric Creations (Vic) until all money is paid in full.

All products are custom-made. Please select carefully, as deposits are non-refundable or exchangeable once the order has been placed with our fabric supplier and/or workroom.

If Fabric Creations (Vic) is unable to secure either the materials, fabric or components required to manufacture the products after from the date of order, we will offer you to (i) re-select products, or (ii) cancel the order in full or part and receive a full or partial refund.

All products have different production times ranging from 3-5 weeks for most, plantation shutters are 8-10 weeks, and for specialty products time frames will be advised.

Any estimated delivery date is an estimate only. Product delays are out of our control however we will notify you as soon as possible should any delays occur.

Removal & Disposal as quoted, if not quoted but required the charge will be $10 per product removed. Fabric Creations is not liable for the repairing/patching of holes/damage as a result of the removal of old fixings.

If you cannot accept delivery of your order within 14 days of notification by Fabric Creations that the goods are ready, payment becomes due.
Complimentary storage for goods is provided for up to 30 days. After this period, a fee of $50 per week may apply.

Fabric Creations (Vic) provides a 2-year warranty to cover all goods. Please see the attached warranty document for further details.

 

“Your Warranty”

All window furnishings come with a two [2] year warranty across our entire range of products, covering component failure and manufacturing issues.

This warranty is only available to you, the original purchaser named on the invoice. The warranty cannot be transferred.

This warranty is valid when payment for the blinds has been paid in full, and proof of purchase is provided.

 

What the warranty covers

This warranty covers the repair or replacement of any defective material or component within the Fabric Creations range.

Fabric Creations provides a manufacturer’s warranty that your blinds will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a maximum of two (2) years from the date of Fabric Creations invoice.

Our products & services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are also entitled to have the product repaired or replaced if the product is defective.

 

What is not covered under the warranty

 

For this warranty; “defect” does not include (and we will not replace or repair products that have been damaged by) the following:

  • Normal deterioration consistent with the products age or any conditions caused outside of normal wear and tear
  • Products that were not installed by Fabric Creations or that were removed and reinstalled
  • Damage caused by abuse, mishandling, fire, negligence, accidents or any natural disaster
  • Exposure to the elements (sun damage, wind or rain), excessive discoloration over time.
  • Exposure to chemicals, and any type of corrosive element such as, cleaning products, insects, marine environments and salt air (including damage caused by scrubbing)
  • Any damage resulting from exposure to high moisture and high humidity environments (resulting in mould, mildew, fungal, alge or ‘warping’)
  • Products that shrink or expand due to weather conditions;
  • Weather-related disasters or Other acts of God; (Awnings: Do not leave your awning out in strong winds and/or rain)
  • Marks or imperfections in, holes or runs in, or fraying of the material which occurs more than 30 days after installation;
  • Products that are requested outside recommended sizes (including rail-roaded fabrics)
  • Puckering of material where material is under 1 metres in width
  • Puckering of material, or a ‘V’ configuration where material is over 2 metres in width or 3 metres in height; lines, creases or waves
  • Products with a drop of 3.3 meters or more
  • Imperfections that are not visible to the naked eye from 1.5 metres;
  • Uneven rolling of linked blinds;
  • Products installed into plaster or other non-standard structures. (Non-standard refers to any structures other than timber or aluminium frames and/or timber architraves. We take no responsibility for the strength of any surface we fix into.)
  • Variation in speed of motorised blinds (motorised roller blinds have a variation of up to -/+ 10% in speed and accuracy as per manufacturer specifications)
  • The cost of access equipment (e.g. Scaffold, cherry picker, scissor lift, etc.) or electrical works necessary for repairs
  • Transportation costs to and from our location (if required)
  • Labour costs after 12 months following installation
  • Gaps between blind fabric and window frame or architrave (up to 20mm) for inside fit (reveal fit)
  • Failure to follow any procedures specified or recommended by Fabric Creations
  • Curtains length changing throughout the seasons (A tolerance of +/- 10mm)

Some components, such as cords, chains, cord locks, tilters, and zips, incur wear and tear during normal functioning or from excessive use. Such items are only covered by a one-year warranty.

The costs of removing the guaranteed items or installing the repaired or replaced goods are not covered by this warranty. However, we will cover those costs if the items violate any of the abovementioned promises under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in this document limits, excludes, or modifies those guarantees or any other rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law. This warranty is in addition to Other legal rights you have under the law

 

Motors
Somfy motors offered by Fabric Creations carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty except for their wire free rechargeable motors which have a 2-year warranty.
Automate motors offered by Fabric Creations carry a 7-year manufacturer warranty for hard wired motors & a 5-year warranty for battery motors.

Repair Services
Fabric Creations can provide a repair service for most furnishings, this service comes with a 3-month warranty. Service Calls will incur fees that are outlined below.

  • $125 – for internal furnishings; this covers the 1st hour. Any parts used will be added to this fee. ($125 for every hour after, per person)
  • $155 – for external furnishings; this covers the 1st hour for 1 person (if a second person is required due to height or safety concerns a further $155 will be charged per hour, per person). Any parts used will be added to this fee. ($125 for every hour after per person)
