Earlier this year we delivered a bespoke window furnishings project for an out-of-the-way beachfront residence, in Chelsea 3196. The brief was to enhance privacy and light control while preserving the uninterrupted coastal outlook. To achieve this, we installed honeycell blinds in the upstairs bedrooms and sheer wavefold curtains in the main living zones, carefully selecting fabrics that complement the home’s soft coastal palette and relaxed architectural style.
Light Control at the Sunny Beachside with Soft Textiles
The bedroom window furnishings feature Honeycell’s Haze 20mm in Soul Shine, chosen for its delicate translucency and superior insulation properties. These honeycell blinds allow natural light to gently filter into the rooms while maintaining essential privacy and reducing heat gain, an important consideration in a coastal environment. Their clean, tailored finish complements the serene bedroom interiors, ensuring a calm and restful atmosphere throughout the day.
Custom Window Furnishings to Let Nature In
Living areas were fitted with wavefold curtains (sheers and drapes) designed to soften sunlight while maintaining a strong visual connection to the beachfront setting. We used James Dunlop’s Illusion in Dove Grey and Zepel’s Naturama in Oyster. These fabrics were both selected for their naturay textures and ability to drape elegantly in a wavefold style. The result is a window treatment that enhances openness, filters glare, and preserves ocean views, creating a relaxed and inviting coastal living space.
In combination, these choices deliver a cohesive result that balances functionality with refined coastal aesthetics. The home now benefits from improved thermal comfort, controlled natural light, and enhanced privacy, all while maintaining its connection to the surrounding beachfront landscape.
