We recently completed a beautiful curtain installation in Malvern 3144, transforming a stunning apartment located seven stories above street level with breathtaking views across Melbourne. The goal for this project was simple: enhance the space with soft, elegant window furnishings while ensuring the incredible outlook remained the star of the room.

For this project, the client selected 100% linen sheer wavefold curtains in Warwick’s Calais Mist. This fabric is a perfect choice for modern apartments, offering a refined natural texture that softens light without blocking the view.

The Calais Mist tone works beautifully in contemporary interiors, providing a light, airy feel while complementing neutral colour palettes. Paired with the wavefold curtain style, the fabric falls in smooth, uniform waves that create a clean and consistent drape. Linen sheers naturally bring warmth and sophistication to a space, while the wavefold system adds a modern architectural look that still maintains the soft, relaxed atmosphere sheer curtains are known for.

Maximising the Melbourne View

One of the most important aspects of this installation was ensuring the curtains did not interfere with the apartment’s spectacular view. Positioned seven stories up, the windows offer a sweeping outlook across Melbourne’s skyline.

To maximise this feature, we carefully designed the track and stack positions so the curtains could stack neatly back from the windows when open. This allows the homeowners to fully enjoy their view while still having the option to filter light and create privacy when the curtains are drawn.

The final result is a space that feels bright, elegant and connected to the city beyond the windows. The perfect balance between functionality and design.
